UK Visa Categories Reduced to Four

2. Study

The study category is for people who wish to come to the UK to study at a university or other educational institution. This category includes the current tier 4 (general) student visa, which allows for a wider range of courses and institutions. Applicants must show that they have been accepted onto a course of study, have sufficient funds to cover their tuition and living expenses, and can speak English at the required level.

3. Work

The work category is for people who wish to come to the UK to work, either temporarily or permanently. This category includes the current tier 2 (general) visa. Applicants must have a job offer from a UK employer that meets certain requirements, including a minimum salary threshold. The new system will also allow for more flexibility in switching between different types of work visas.

4. Family

The family category is for people who wish to join their family members in the UK, or for those who are already in the UK and wish to extend their stay with their family. This category includes the current family visa, as well as visas for partners and children. Applicants must provide evidence of their relationship and meet certain financial requirements.
